Feels like I've lost power at the take off.

Over the past week, I've noticed that my car has been very sluggish from take off at lights etc. When I get up to 30 mph it seems ok again and higher up the gears its fine as well.

I might be burning more fuel than normal, but I'm not sure as I've been on nightshift, which means come the morning I've got heavy foot syndrome and just want to get home to my bed!

Any suggestions or ideas appreciated please.

Maybe, just maybe, its because its getting slightly warmer so the air is less dense, less air less fuel, less mixture = less power.  Just a guess.  I am happy to be shot down in flames...   You've been used to driving it in a very cold atmosphere which affects air mass etc etc.

Time of the month maybe?

Get your codes checked and reset if need be.

Plugs n lead's may need replacing or possably even the start of coil breakdown.

Get a code reading first n save yourself big headaches mate.

Nope, its been the fuel pump, it failed on me altogether today !

Well I think its the fuel pump, the car turns over but wont fire up as if the fuel isnt getting through.

Can anybody give me an idea of the price I can expect to pay at a garage for this job. I'm not in the AA or RAC so I just took/pushed it to the nearest garage, hopefully they will do a decent job! My local mechanic is superb AND i WOULD TRUST HIM 100%.

I would expect it's your fuel filter, they are only about £6. Try that before you replace the pump.
