The Fabspeed stuff is silly loud...my mate has them on-off his 993 C4 and they are stupidly loud...and not even a particularly nice souind...just noise.

There is a bloke on eBay modifies the standard 996/993 boxes and fits a bypass similar to the PSE, which sounds fantastic.

However if you have a local exhaust place, you can have them fit a 2" bypass pipe to the standard boxes and get the same effect, much cheaper. I think my mate paid £50 for his 993 boxes to be done.

Ideally what you would need is a pair of standard 996 stainless rear boxes to have modified.

If you buy a 996, give me a shout...I have a brand new pair of rear boxes sitting in my garage loft, you can heve them if you want to get the bypasses made.
I also have a modified airbox - which is a nice addition!

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

So wednesday me and Mrs had the afternoon off to attend a funeral. I get home at lunchtime to be greeted with Mrs H and a face like thunder.

Mrs H "is there something you want to tell me?"
Me "No, why?"
Mrs H "I've just answered a call from an insurance company wanting to know if you were happy with the quote on the Porsche."
Me "Ah, well I was just seeing what it would cost."
Mrs H "If you've bought another car It's divorce!"

She still isn't 100% sure that I haven't put a deposit down on one. Better not tell her I got a very acceptable finance quote from a local specialist on a 997!

So I bought a 997 not a 996. Shame it's only 1:18th scale!

Found it cheap on eBay and couldn't resist. Now has pride of place on my desk at work. Should motivate me to get saving for a real one.
