find your device's section and read, read, read, pluck up the courage to do what rooting your device entails and hold your breathe whilst you do it

Though you may have an easy to root device (non-NAND locked) and be a case of backup your current rom, put a file on your phone, press a few buttons while powering it on and BAM you have a different flavour of the OS installed.

I tired to root my GS2 but gave up, its so much harder than the desire and have a much bigger chance of bricking it

Not Tried the gs2 but the gs is pretty easy to do. I flashed my sisters gs with CM7 and it was a lot quicker than doing my defy

i have galaxy s. So it seems not so difficult, still might wait until i get a new one, probably get an S2

S3 will be out sometime this year - I reckon around the Olympics - so don't upgrade too early if you can hold out, it's meant to be a truly awesome phone if the rumours are true

Its really pretty easy, Odin does pretty much all of it for you.

But you need to be sure you have the right version of the phone, ie. my sister's was a compatible GT-I9000
