No, that was what the display read and they're normally pretty accurate.  I may have driven the sh*t out of it, but that's kinda the point of a test drive.

Doesn't matter what I do to my old Golf I wouldn't be able to get the consumption below 20MPG.

Im not saying you didnt get 14MPG DH (because I cant be arsed to argue) but its hardly fair to say that, you really must have drove it like you stole it. Thats not how you would normally drive it.

How boring am I to not keep poking the MK6 boys.

I don't know what's with the Mk6 hate. As an everyday car, I'd always choose to drive my Mk6 over my Mk2.

The Mk2 is a great car for making me feel good once in a while, but as a machine for doing a job, the Mk6 wins hands down.

nope i wouldnt, not a big fan of the mk5 or the mk6 tbh. lost too much of the boxy shape of a golf IMO

however i have seen a white ed35 on the way to work a few times which has been modified and looked sh!t hot.

You can't have the boxy shape any more...it doesn't meet current legislation. Sadly, that's progress folks.
