i have with the 312mm set up. Not really a massive difference in breaking powwwa but you do get a ever-so slightly firmer brake pedal

Huge improvement braking wise, they don't feel squiggy at all. braided hoses, slightly better brake fluid and some mintex disc and pads and it feels superior to the 312mm setup everyone keeps w@nking about.

However I'd recommend Goodridge, I looked at blackdiamond and hel ones before, ended up ordering the supposedly correct kit which was made fresh by black diamond only to find out they got the fitments all wrong, they used the connectors for a mk3 setup. Went goodridge from C&R and they fitted straight away without any time wasted, I did however go for a complete kit:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Golf-Mk4-Goodridge-Braided-Brake-Hoses-6-Line-Kit-G6-ZZGC0320-005-6-Lines-/110748181513?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c91b2409

otherwise you can buy front and back kit separately:

Front: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Golf-Mk4-Goodridge-Braided-Brake-Hose-Lines-FWD-G6-1-SVW0607-4P-4-Line-Kit-/120783634381?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1f43ffcd

Back: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Golf-Mk4-Goodridge-Rear-Braided-Brake-Hose-Lines-G6R-/120784888058?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1f5720fa

Also expect them to take a while to come, as companies tend to send the order to the manufacturer for the kits to be made as rarely they are sitting on the shelf unless there's a return.

I am only 14yrs older than you   have driven cars with them fitted and never noticed any real difference, I am sure on a track with lots of braking you may see some small gains.

   that makes you 36...?

Its a huge improvement till the pads start baking and smoking thats when you know you need a better setup, but I refuse to pay silly money for a brake setup rather buy a better car

Indeed, not sure what is worse, knowing I am 37 this year or the fact I have been doing the same job for 13 years in July. how time flies

Don't! They take the piss out of me at work, saying I'm middle aged, talking of extensions, damp proof course, having a misses, a child and settled down in a mortgage, soon I'll take up golf     Also this is the first job that I have been in over 2 years usually I would of changed by now  and its the job I've hated the most.
