i test drove a ctr when i was looking for a new car, was ok but not that fast, certainly not quick enough to justify the fuel bill, plus when youve finished acting twit and just want to drive somewhere the ride is shocking!

ended up buying a leon fr tdi 150bhp which when mapped was quicker for normal driving 90% of the time and did 58mpg (obviously didnt corner like the type r but didn't shatter you spine when you ran over a cats eye either!)

and as not to seem bias i also bought and broke (best thing you could do with a 150bhp mk4 in my opinion) a mk4 1.8t. That was Slooow, but mroe comfortable than a type r lol (to be fair death is probably more comfortable than driving around sheffield roads in a type r)

Your comparing a turbo'd car to a non turbo'd car.

How about you compare VW's 2.0 n/a engine instead..

wer missing a few things here aha

1. the civic vtec engine im on about is not a type r vtec. just a 1.5 vtec pulled out of a standard civic

2. the 1.8t is in a mk1 golf not a mk4. running a qpeng managment at 200bhp
