Porting a ko3 exhaust manifold
« on: 23 January 2012, 18:14 »
Basically I am running  a hybrid turbo and I remember nick telling me that I need to port the standard manifold as the aftermarket ones crack. Anyone done this themselves on a ko3 , I think it's just number 3 port and where they all meet. Or maybe know  a link or someone in Herts area that can do it.

Any particular benefits?

I cant see it making a difference TBH,  Id much rather buy the THS large port exhaust manifold

THS manifolds are rubbish i saw mine crack after 1k miles, standard ported ones are much better and half the price

Never knew they cracked.

Finding a uncracked standard one that ran stock power is even hard!

I have a spare one but now tempted to do this on the spare one, once I swaps it over I'll put other stock one on sale

I looked at doing it with my spare.....but read/heard it made little difference.
Comparing the OEM inlets/outlets to their relevant gaskets showed there is VERY little room for porting unless you do it inside the collector.  But the way I see it, the gases still have to go through the same size end outlet.
