Help - only had car 1 week & needs new catalytic converter/centre & rear box?

I was going to come back on later on add my comment that i cannot see it being the exhaust causing the misfire. But by which time i could hardly type.  :embarassed:

Tbh i would get the plugs checked that one isn't helicoiling, and also have a diagnostic done on the ECU, should throw up any fault codes that need sorting out.

Could also be the dizzy thats playing up, maybe moisture in the cap. Then again this is all speculation.

hi everyone,

I thought I'd get back and let everyone know what happened. I replaced the cat and the middle silencer (both of which needed doing, rusty with holes) but the misfire continued. So I took the advice of the forum and replaced the fuel pump relay and the ECU relay - and hey presto - the misfire vanished. And as a bonus the car has a new lease of life.

So thank you very much to everyone who helped me out - much appreciated.
