looks HOT HOT HOT, why not lighten the flywheel?

I am not a mechanic, just a player but the lighten flywheel you gain and lose some benefits. E.g. the engine is more free revving but on hills you loose some power due to the reduced mass.

But if you got it balanced with a clutch, I am guessing is more harmonic and you reduce plate friction?

Again I am not 100% sure, but thats my basic understanding.

Hi Wayne its been a long time since I last spoke to you. You had a sick MK3 8v, painted, vento front and dropped.

I'm done with the VR tbh. I am looking forward to the challenge of a 1.8T.

You have to rev a bit more to pull away but thats the only downside and you get used to that pretty quick. You dont lose power/torque, but you will have enough on tap anyway, and you won't be spending much time between 1000-1500rpm anyway.
Less mass to rotate makes it rev quicker and acts as if the car is lighter.

An 02A flywheel gets balanced on its own.

Here what i had done. From around 10kg to around 5.5kg

Kool who did the work for you and did you get the clutch balanced as well? I might have this done when I get another box to rebuild and put in an LSD. This is a long way off lol need to get her running first.
