AP Coilover strut diameter trouble

I recently bought a set of AP coilovers,but unfortunately i ordered some with 50mm front struts when i needed the 55mm. The company i bought them off has sent me a metal collar that will adapt it to my car. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?If so is it safe to do so as i dont want something that in the long run will do more damage. First post so cheers:)

i've used those collars before, never had any problems with them. I'm pretty sure they only make a 50mm strut and all their 55 kits come with (or should anyway) the sleeves.
