mk2 golf rear turret ROTTON

hiya guys im new on here and just 2 days ago bought wot i thought was a mint 3dr mk2 golf gti 8v on a h reg it had no rear seat belts so today went to fit erm and when i removed the turret foam covers i found a massive hole the size of ya palm and just under the rear window on top of the strut seem another hole bout 10cm long and half a cm wide can this be fixed as the rest of the car is sound and i dont want to strip or scrap it any help would be great many thanx mk3dubz :)

Very common place for the most solid of Mk2s to rot, strip out trim, and get the wholes welded up...

really could'nt believe when i see the holes thought i had a minter lol so defo can be fixed also will this be costly to get sorted as aint got alot of ££££££££'s

As long as surrounding material is sound, then shouldn't be any more than a few hours welding, and re under sealing, somewhere around the £120 mark should cover it, though worth checking the rest of the car over on a ramp, just to make sure the rest of the car is sound, before committing!
