Point taken but surely at the same time you would expect the t's to be crossed and the i's to be dotted? I too have been a customer of my local dealer for a number of years and I suppose this is why I'm more than happy to dig my heals in about a daft keyring.

What spec have you gone for and when do you expect to take delivery?

I agree,it's these sorts of sites that golf anoraks can view and discuss with like minded people anything Gti related.I am new to site but have gained valuable information.Long may it continue!

Well said! Isnt this the whole idea of a 'chat forum', some threads you look at laugh at some you get involved. Theres a clue in the name you know, haha. Buster 73, if you want a forum that theres not much going on then join Club GTi.

I've got an Ed35 on order , from the same dealer that my son bought his R last year , from the same dealer I've bought other Vw's from and sent many a pal down to buy Vw's in the past.

I cannot help thinking the good relationship I've got would be soured if I kicked up a fuss about a bloody keyring or missing numbers off a full leather seat.

It's a chat forum , about opinions , about debate , some will agree and some will disagree ,that's life.

If your dealer isn't giving you what you paid for and are entitled to then i'd say your "relationship" is already sour, no?
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

If you dont own one and instead drive a standard gti ull probably not understand and yes spending 30g's on one ud expect VW to go all out with the car especially since in every picture and brochure 35 is visable in the seats.

Eh? It appears your saying only ED35 owners spent over £30k on their cars, I think you'll find lots of GTI owners here spent well £30k on their "standard" GTI

Also, even us "standard" GTI owners can kick up a fuss. I remember that a good many folk on here were a tad disappointed when they were given a drab black service manual wallet instead of the special, red stitched, GTI badged edition.

Most of us were also annoyed at small omissions around the car itself, namely the lack of door sill protectors, the lack of seat handle inserts and so forth.

It doesn't matter how much you spend on something. If you don't fully receive everything that you paid for then you are entitled to kick up a fuss.

And besides, without the fancy badges, embossed seats and keyring, the Edition 35 is near enough a standard GTI. So if I'd shelled out for a special edition over the standard edition I'd be making sure I was getting all the bells and whistles I was due.

There's no need to kick up a fuss. I mean, if you want your wife to do something, you ask her in such a way that she'll do it thinking it was her idea all along.
