Seat cover options?
« on: 14 January 2012, 21:04 »
Are there any seat cover options for the GTI? I came from a Golf Estate and loved the faux leather seating and would consider that again for my CSW GTI. Leather stretches out and after a couple of years they look horrible. I'm liking the tartan seats now, but I probably will be looking for other options. Where should I be looking for seat cover options?

On the assumption that you don't have young children or are a messy bugger, I'd leave the tartans on show, it compliments the red-stitching well.
However, if you are deadset on covers, then make sure that they either have red stiching or at least red in there somewhere

Over the festive period I required to transport some freshly baked Apple and Blueberry Crumble (my own recipe). Unfortunately some of the blueberry syrup leaked all over my rear bench.

I was expecting purple seats.

A good clean and a hoover later and they look as good as new.

If you have the Tartan, leave it on show. It's pretty easy to look after and looks the dogs danglies

If you do fit seat covers, make sure they're 'airbag friendly' and don't impede the operation of the seat airbags. I've got tartan seats and agree with PenguinGTI, I think they're great and personally, wouldn't want to cover them up.

Best thing to do is give them a really good clean then put some protection on them. Two products that I'd say are spot on.

Aerospace 303 Fabric Guard available from www.polishedbliss.co.uk

Gtechniq i1 - available from www.gtechniq.com

Both easy to apply and do the job
