where is the vin plate on my mk3 golf cl 1993 its dark red

just checked theres no code for the colour

ah, right . thats on the paper sticker in the boot. it's under the latch. or if you have service history it'll be in the front of that.

its a dark red but i don't know the exact name of the colour i want to buy touch up paint

oh yeah, sez at the top :embarassed: might be indian red L451? sure someone will be along soon with more suggestions. your sure the stickers not there? between the spare wheel well and the boot catch on the panel that faces backwards.

Are the door mirrors colour coded to the body?  If so, pop the passenger (LHS) mirror cover off (carefully) & have a look on the inside.  There should still be a sticker with the covers part number & the colour code.  Dead handy!
