use your free bus pass then
get something second hand, the spec on a new £300 bike is pretty sh!t. 2nd hand you could have hydraulic discs and a better groupset. I do agree with sam though, you need a hybrid type bike.

Well having bought a bike, I am getting bored of the road round here.
so, travelling with bike to go riding is now being considered. cant be doing with wheels on and off nonsense, so looking at a Tow bar mounted carrier
anyone got any pointers
