Well that time has come, it looks like I am going to have to sell the GTI
It is a very sad day because I love it so much, but I need to get a new flat and I can’t afford both.
Now I have never sold a car before, I have always part exchanged them, so I am a complete novice to this, so please forgive me if I ask some silly questions.
I mainly want to know how much you think I could sell my car for, and where is best to advertise it (Piston heads, Auto Trader???)
Right my car spec is as follows:
05 metallic Blue 3 door GTI with DSG
60000 Odd miles
17inch wheels (not in great nick, but OK) front tyres are Michelin PS3’s with a good amount of tread left
Paint has some swirls but no major scratches
Both front arches were replaced because of known rust issue
No dents or knocks what so ever
Interior is in great condition
Carbon Speed air intake with piper cross panel filter (I cleaned it before the service and I will throw in the cleaning equipment)
Cruise control
Rear parking sensors
RCD510 (CD player part doesn’t work unfortunately but everything else does, and I also had the new CAN BUS installed to stop battery drain) will throw in the RCD300 if the buyer wants it
Winter pack (heated seats, heated washer jets, heated wing mirrors and low washer fluid light)
Electric folding and adjustable wing mirrors
Tyre pressure sensor
Low line computer
Multi-function steering wheel with paddle shift for DSG
DSG gear box oil filter and oil change done at around 50000 miles
Cambelt and water pump change done at around 50000 miles
Just had a major service at around 59000 miles (new brake discs and pads all round, oil change and oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and coil over pack, and new pollen filter)
Replaced battery about 4 or 5 months ago
Tax till April and MOT till October or November (will have to check when I get home)
All in all the car is in pretty good condition, I have always looked after it, and it is a very reluctant sell.
So with all that in mind, how do you think I can get for it?
