I know a fella who used to have a 55 plate Lambo and now runs two RX7's instead. THe daily is pushing 500bhp and is a bit of a monster but it's nothing compared to the lunacy of the 1100bhp green beast he has for the weekends!

As for build quality of Maxdas I'd say they're on a par with the german metal of similar vintage. My MX5 has less rattles and squeeks than any of my MKII's of similar age and the plastics are all of similar quality. Can't comment on the leather as I've never had facroty leather in a MKII.

One things for sure. Mazda's run of the mill cars are pretty dull to look at but the MPS cars and the coupes and Roadsters are better than anything else out there for the money they cost.

only thing with Maxdas is really poor build quality

RX7, had 2 at work, they are piss poor on the interior, leather is like paper haha.. Slow as f**k too

Id take a Ford over a mazda anyday.

Maybe in the past (which I have no experience of).  I nervously chose mine over a MK6 Golf but can safely say I love it and have had no issues with build quality, it's had 50k worth of me beating the sh*t out of it so far and its still as smooth and rattle free inside and out as it was when new.  Quietest yet most responsive derv of this class I have driven yet and I've had a few.  It's certainly not slow.  I think they have come a long way in recent years.

I'm on about New mazdas.. they are no where close to VW mate.. and the leather in Mk2 was better than whats in the new ones so theirs your answer on that...
