Noisy Aircon?

Just got my 2010 3dr. A low mileage example that is almost like new. All is good apart from when switching the AC on get a fairly loud noise. Its not the fan, as it comes and goes with the AC button after say 20 seconds of activation. Sounds like compressor fault, or out of gas?

Got this exact system in the wife's Alhambra, run that with the AC on all the time without any such noise.

Anyone throw any light on this? I guess I will have to drop it in to be looked at at the dealers.......

Hi mate, welcome to the forums. As you suggest, take it to the dealers as mine doesn't make any noise.

A definate trip to the dealers, mine makes no noise at all either.

trip to dealer, last time I experienced that the air con system was low on pressure, hence the noise, all sorted quite quickly.

It's due in tomorrow for a quick look. I agree that's what it sounds like. Concerned that an 18 month old car with 7k miles needs AC gassing.......

It's not working, looks like a leak, going back to supplying dealer - I got stroppy so they are coming to collect (60 plus miles). All more than a little disappointing, and should have been picked up on approved used checks........ All this when it's a preferential exchange from a lemon Audi........
