Seen this sort of thing before Rob, turned out to be kids had found a new way of silently breaking glass would you believe!! wont say how they did it, but once they have seen it done, its addictive! Ive even had a go myself, because I didnt believe it! Worth warning other garages in the area about it, and will more than likely be a passing phase till the novelty wears off...

Thom

Hit a spark plug with a hammer, break off the white porcelain. Throw at window. It makes a very silent sound and spiders instantly.

Or use a glass hammer.

That looks to me as if it's been done with a solid object though as glass hammers etc and the porcelain spider they don't tend to go right through as such but shatter and stay in place.

Obviously they could have just pushed it through after but I'm willing to bet they ran about hitting them.

Any paint damage?

Where all my moneys went.

Better yet, slide a blood pressure band between door and chassis, pump it up so it forces door too part, a string tied in a hangman hoop on a stick, get door pin and pull up.

Then there's the coat hanger method and removing window seal...

All this stuff is beyond readily available on the internet, so its hardly a surprise.

no nothing as subtle they smashed the windows with car jacks and wheel braces, we know this as jacks and braces have been found in the cars that had been smashed. the problem is it is a quiet estate at night. The police are supposed to patrol of course lol.
It is weird though as we have had problems before, cats nicked, radios taken etc. This time nothing taken just massive damage. Thom yes loads of paint damage on window frames where the jacks have been thrown. Cheers for all your support lads just so glad we were not effected.

Someone with a grudge maybe?

....going along the paranoid vein....maybe a development company wit links to shady council officials wants to build a new mega mall on the site, and the only way to get the tennants out is a campaign of destruction!
