Help with passenger seat
« on: 06 January 2012, 18:33 »
Can somebody please help me here. My passenger seat wont move forward and seems to be stuck in the back position. However does tilt back and forward. So i went to vw and they say that i need a whole new seat base. I have seen on the forum that it maybe a small black clip l shaped ?? Can somebody give me a ruff idea what it looks like please. My car is under a year warranty from lyyods finance but they will not cover it. Golf mk5 gt sport. Pretty poor if this is the case car is only 4 years old in a couple of days.

there is a plastic/metal block that sits on the seatbase runner and when you tilt the seat forwards the seat usually move forwards and then goes back to the place where the tilt function was used, these are called memory blocks and i work at an audi dealer and have replaced sh!tloads. i'll get the part number tommorow and let you know

What a weekend they were wanting to hit me for £580 to get it sorted said i needed a new base. However upon checking it over the weekend myself the two leavers at the side one had got on top of the other so it wouldnt push it down to free the seat from going back and forward no real that the tech didnt spot that ???
