where abouts u based mate?

i know its far and im in the same boat but im going to head up to r-tech, its far but it will be worth it. They are experts in the 1.8T and vags, plus some people have complained that the revo ones have flat spots and arent that impressed.

So for me im going to head up, as they will give your car a full health check and no the engines inside and out :afro:

personally wouldnt go with revo just cause one of my mates had a revo map, disconnected his battery to put his amp in, and lost his map, rang up revo and they said something about when you disconnect the battery the settings of the map are lost and therefore you dont get the full potential of the map.

That seems very odd, disconnecting the battery should not wipe the map, I disconnected my battery to do a job over christmas and never had any problems.

sorry shout have worded that better, he stil had the map, just the settings were whiped off it so his car was still running higher bhp, just not as high as before he disconnected the battery.

dont know if its just the type of map he got from revo or what....

to the O/P ring r-tech, they do mobile mapping and see what they can do for you, also try carbon chip.

I still don't think that is right  :undecided: worth remembering that when the battery is reconnected the car will take a while to reset / relearn etc.

might have just been that then, but the way he was telling me about it it sounded like he lost the actual settings such as when the turbo spools up, or boost pressure ect.

+1 on r-tech mobile mapping, forgot they did that lol

theres a guy in iver near slough who does MOREBHP remaps, will check your car over etc the only problem being is that he doesnt ahve a rolling road?

You have a few choices

regarding carbon chip tuning, theyre even further away for us
