Mk2 GTI 16V starting issues over only driving it one day!

Hi Guys

My Mk2 16v is giving me trouble over the winter, same as last year and now this year. As long as i drive the car twice a day one in the morning and once in the evening itll start the next sday. However if i only drive it once and leave it standing till the next day it wont start and it doesnt start unless i jump start it with high revs off another car and by shaking the car a little.

This only seems to happen in the winter months for about 2-3 months, in the summer i can leave it all week without any issue and itll start.

Ive changed the battery, spark plugs, cleaned the distributer cap and placed in engine cleaner to clean out the valves etc.

Anyone have any ideas or had this issue before?

Over fueling on the 5th injector? or WUR warm up regulator stuck, just a few pointers!

Does it turn over when you try to start it, or is it just "click" and dead?

it tries to start but then i have to pump the accel peddel severly for it to fire through and start up.

would the warm up reg cause this though?
