Don't even get me started on this one!
I sold an XBox a few years ago when they were newish. Sold for £300. Posted it recorded Parcel Force then heard nothing from the guy. Figured he just didn't want to leave feedback, so moved on with my life.
2 months later, he mailed me and asked where it was. I told him it had been posted and that the tracking showed it as delivered. He then raised a dispute with PayPal claiming he never bought it and that his card must have been stolen??!? WTF?
As soon as I saw this, I severed the link between PayPal and my account as I knew friends that had had money taken out of their bank accounts with things like this. Thankfully did it in time, but my PayPal account showed a negative balance of £300 and my account was suspended.
I argued that it had been delivered and that how could I possibly check if the card was stolen or not - as I don't have access to that side of the transaction. That was surely why they took 4%?
Anyhow, long story short, they gave it to a debt collection agency, I went dark and they gave up chasing.
Did you know, under the absolutely useless sellers protection, if I send something to you via recorded delivery and someone else in your house happens to answer the door and signs for it, the protection is void. Utter sh!t. eBay don't want individual sellers any more, they only want companies.
Grrrrr.
