Where do i stand with this ebay dispute?

Hi i sold a ps3 to someone using paypal thru ebay, sent it off and it got lost in the post. I have been in costant contact with the buyer stating how sorry i was that the item got lost.

He has been to post office i have been to mine to see if it had been returned, no sign?

I send him reciept as proff that i posted it incase he thought otherwise, to which he replies oh thats my old address? Iask whether he can go round there so he does, says no sign and asks if i can check my post office.

I do and still no sign, ask for claim/loss form fill it in and have sent it off.

Now he as opened a dispute and asking for money back? I said im sorry but not sure how i can send money back as i dont believe it to be my fault and ill let paypal sort it out?

So have sent off the dispute to ebay stating that i dont think its fair i have to give money back, im not a comany so dont have any refund policy etc??


So just wanted to ask u guys what u think and where i stand?

p.s. i have 100% feedback and have sent off hundreds of things even on here and nothing has ever been lost all from the same post office. SO bit annoyed tbh.

Sounds like you're being scammed, IMO.
Why would someone buy something that expensive off ebay, without changing their address?

Was it recorded delivery?

Paypal will tell him to await the outcome of the PO enquiry anyway. Was it signed for at the guys old address? How was it posted, did you send it insured with signed for special delivery etc..? At the end of the day, you have proof of postage, and the guy is at fault for declaring the wrong address on his paypal account. I wouldn't give it up yet.

Was only £60 lol was original chunky ps3.
I thought it was but wasn't till I got home I realised the guy didn't record it  even thoug untold him to. ( was a massive queue and he looked busy so will let him off slightly lol)

Just seems a bit unfair to say oh that's my old address? And expect me to refund him. I always put no refunds on bottom of ebay adds if thst makes any difference lol?

im no expert..... but surely its the buyers repsonsibility to provide correct postal details!? in which case you should be well in the clear!!

If he failed to update it from what was displayed when he won, then it is his own fault.

You sent it to the address he supplied. How were you to know otherwise.

How did you send it??Which royal mail service as some royal mail services have sign for anyway as well as tracking info.Sometimes if you look on the receipt it will have the tracking number.

+1. I recently got scammed for selling a PS3 too. I eventually caught him out and he ended the dispute, however he left me with negative feedback and ruined my 100% rating. Cvnt!

What he said. If you have proof of postage that you sent the item to the address provided by the buyer then you are not at fault. If the item has been lost by the post service then that is a different matter. The issue here is that the item has not been received because he gave you the wrong address... which he has admitted to (important).
