Who has the oldest MK2 here??  As I'v read posts on here of early rare mk2 B reg motors, if that is early how rare is mine as it was bought in April '84 on a A reg???

i had an a reg mark 2 it was march 84 and it was an orange 1.3! :grin:

I've had 2 mk2s some years ago and they were both A reg, but one was a left hand drive conversion! :shocked:

Neither were GTi's but 1.8 carb models. :tongue:

Not sure how early GTi's came out?

i seen an a reg gti it was k jet 8v and my a reg mk2 was a left hook one but on the right if you know what i mean? all the wipers were wrong.....

My dad bought his first mk2 on the launch night in the UK, I remeber going to the party at Humberside Motors in Selby (dealer long since gone) the car was a Gambia Red 5 door 1.3 CL, reg number A866 PAT, I wonder if it is still on the road? Very special car for me, as it kicked started my VW obsession!

mine's a D reg too :D
My dad had a A reg GTi in white, a D reg GTi in mars orange and a G reg GTi in helios Blue.

i think the project gti in VWM is an a-reg?  :huh: I could be wrong, as i dont get to read the f**k*r first  :angry: :laugh:

on my back E reg digi the wipers ar the wrong way around too

anyone know why they changed them on some?
