yep lots of money spent in a short period of time, impressive though, and if it didnt happen i know ide feel slightly down hearted

as this was happening i was pissed singin auld lang syne to my mates playing bagpipes in the middle of there street so i cant realy say i saw it though  :sad:

yeah i was to busy setting our own fireworks ( that i didnt pay for) in my garden as i was the only sobar one!

just watched it now! a few friends went up there, said it was amazing!

I thought the fireworks were great.  Yeah they're expensive, but they're free for everyone to watch, and are a lovely way to see in the new year.  Great effects and well choreographed to the music.  Pisses on most other countries to be honest.

first time i have ever seen them.. very impressive. Couldnt help wondering who/how this was being paid for but I guess the whole world was watching (at least we like to think so).

Yeah was bad ass, but f**k me did I pay for it, Next year I'll remember to book in advance!

And with regards to how much it cost the figure is approx £5m which I believe is recouped and then some by the tourists spending. You couldn't move in central London, shops where flat out, had I queue to buy a bottle of water for 20 mins in one shop, 8 tills constantly ringing! Bars and resteraunts were full an hotels stacked out! Makes me laugh when people say it cOuld have been spent on old people or families, £5m.... Wouldn't touch the fcuking sides.

I'm irrational and over the top :smiley: would like to be supreme judge though, I'd be a lot less lenient to those found guilty of real crimes
and more lenient to motorists :wink: :laugh:
