Just been to have two new front tyres fitted, tyres fitted the fat bloke proceeded to open my drivers door and pulled my door handle that hard he broke it, (it was a little sensitive and needed opening carefully) even so, he yanked it that hard he nearly pulled it off all
together!!
He then proceeded to tell me that it was my fault for having a 22 year old car and that his car isn't like that. I had a huge row with him
and basically he said he didn't break it, leaving me with a door handle half hanging off and no way of opening my driver door!!
I am so angry, should I claim on my insurance or just fix it myself? I'm fully comp.

Must have been a cheap nasty copy... They do break all to easily..

Get an original and change it over (If its stiff put some grease on the mech)... Only 2 screws and swap the barrel another screw & Bobs your uncle and Fanny is your aunt!!

Not worth messing with an insurance etc...

Hey thanks for the reply
Just the principle, he was such an arse about it, and thought he could shout at me because I was on my own.
It was the original handle and was on it's way out but even so you don't expect someone to break it and not even admit or apologise.

Thanks,
Ali

Hey,

Yeah I will do that thanks
I was upset aswell as angry as I love my car and having just lost my job can't really afford added expense, I know I can pick a handle
up pretty cheap, but it wasn't broken when I got there, why should I have to accept him shouting at me, maybe if he had appologised it might have been a bit better...........will never go there again!!

Thanks,
Ali
p.s Rant over...... :embarassed:

Better to write instead of ringing head office and see what they say

Whether it was on its way out or not you would expect respect from them for your property as a matter of decency. Then for him to turn round and blame the car because its old, in a rude manner too..... If you have a position where you have to deal with customers then you should have manners...simple.
I'd send them an old fashioned letter as already mentioned, making sure you have names and photos!
