New MK2 8v owner :D
« on: 30 December 2011, 23:36 »
Hi,

My first post on the Forum, wasn't sure what to post or where, so I thought I start off in here by saying hi :D

I have a '90 G reg 1.8l 8v GTi, I can't make my mind up if I want to take it back to OEM or keep it Modified or somewhere in between.  I keep seeing great cars on here and changing my mind :D

cheers

Hi thanks,

I've not really got any decent pics of it yet, I'll need to take some :D

It needs a lot of work done to it and a good polish...

Thanks :)

I have to say I really fancy going OEM but I keep seeing Mods I like and think mmmm,  I reckon I will take it back to mostly OEM though,

Well you have more or less a blank canvas to do as you like there

If it was mine i would

change wheels
lower ride height
chnge front grill
change lights for standardish ones

just my 2pence worth lol

Yeah, I'm after the BBS RA lattice style wheels, I'm saving up for them.  I also want to put the standard exhaust back on it too, it's got a big Scorpion System on it just now but I don't like it.  It sounds good just not my cup of tea.  It's been lowered a bit at the moment but it needs work done on that for the next mot so I may have a look at that then.

An OEM grill is also high on my list too, although I do quite like the badgeless one, so I think I'd keep that as a spare

I also want to get the paint work tidied up, I going to try and get a bit of a respray, I like the colour so hopefully just get a new top coat to tidy it all up.

I was told it had been lowered a bit when I bought it, I certainly haven't done it.  I had the mechanic check over it and it needs work done on that anyway soon so I'll look into it then,
