Vagcom results
« on: 29 December 2011, 17:28 »
Got my hands on the kit. Could someone have a quick look at results. Been having rubbish mpg! Testing blocks 3, 8 and 11.

I can provide the excel data if needed, but to make it nice - i've tried to make some graphs that may be useful. I don't really know what I'm looking for so I've used what I think might be useful.

edit: Graphs are in post below as these were not very useful

Temperatures after all the testing:

Fuel Temp   Fuel cooling state   Intake Air Temp   Coolant Temp
~Amb.Temp.°C   On:100%-Off:0%   ~Amb.Temp.°C   ~Amb.Temp.°C

To get accurate data you need to do a WOT (Wide Open Throttle) in 3rd gear from as low down as you can to near enough red line.

On the data front am not much use but Rhyso, Topher, Nick (R-tech) or one of the chiptunning guys will be able to help

Be worth putting a post in the garage section as well.

As Steve said, WOT in 3rd from approx 1500rpm to the redline and repeat at least 3 times to build up an accurate picture

You actual figures should near enough match the figures specified by the ECU  :nerd:

You'll see low down that the boost will not match the requested as the turbo is spooling up; once up and running your boost and MAF levels should be hitting the requests of the ECU

Crap MPG normally points to a failing MAF

What engine is it?

So to do the WOT in 3rd, just a nice flat bit of road where I can go from 1.5k up to red line recording the same data I have above?

Ok ill go measure the same blocks/data only this time repeat it a few times in 3rd, on flat land up to red line.

Its a Golf IV GTTDI 1.9 AJM 115.

Just to clarify..I do this on flat roads in 3rd? I remember reading it needs to be a hill or does it not matter.

Thanks very much

Oh and blocks 3, 8 and 11 correct?

Here's the goods. I had to stop and turn around inbetween goes but I went up to the limit and started at about 1.5k.

Cheers

yes your turbo is overboosting but it will always over boost a little.
I would have thought your maf reading look ok as they hit the targets but wait for someone with more experiance to make a comment :lipsrsealed:
