Knocks bangs and squeeks :(
« on: 28 December 2011, 18:13 »
Well my cars not been driven for a while and today i took it out on a decent run and found the above when going over bumps and turning it did make some odd noises before but its got worse im guessing its the bushes so ive read through a couple of threads for whats needed but most are pretty dated now so im not sure if there all correct (part no wise)

Im going to be replacing the following

Front and rear wishbone bushes with tt rear and standard front (can i replace the ball joint if so that too)

Topmounts and bearings

Rear beam with the fabia vrs one

Would it be worth changing the arb bushes ?

And either r32 dogmone or half polybush it

Does anyone have up to date part numbers for these ? Also prices would be good :) sorry to be a pain
Cheers adrian

Can't help with part numbers but I'm currently in the process of replacing all my bushes/mounts etc.

Like you I went for tt rear bushes & standard fronts....they came to circa £50 for genuine parts from vw with a little discount.

Front topmounts/bearings & arb bushes came to £20 for non-gen parts with discount.

I decided on polybushing the dog bone, much cheaper than R32. I fully polybushed it and despite there is an increase in cabin vibration however it is not unbearable.

Rear beam bushes will be done with vrs bushes next month some time

All parts were through VW apart from dog bone, that was about £15 delivered on eBay
