car cutting out

hello everybody,my car keeps stalling at the lights or when i come to a stop, slightly erratic idle also running rich as hell  :sad:

Plugged it in vag com? Any faults? Checked condition of throttle body? Could need strip and clean possibly

1st stop would be clean throttle body mine used to drop revs at traffic lights and stall had throttle body cleaned cost me £10 at garage but can be done easily yourself, was fine after that  :tongue:

hey just come back from cleaning the throttle body and i found a split oil breather hose, split in 2 peices and patched it up and its running a little more like it, wait till i catch hold of the last owner what a bellend! crap patch job on it

Just had the same issue with mine, got all the hoses replaced, throttle body cleaned - still kept running rich and idling poorly and occasionally cutting out. AA guy found out the Air flow meter was knackered and Lambda sensor needed replaced - running great now. Hope yours is sorted without going through the cost I have.

Yes mate, i think i need to buy a new MAF sensor also, first im going to sort out the exhaust, its blowing a little  :cry: does not help lol

Had same problem, it went in this order

split 'y' breather to top of rocker cover - replaced
cleaned throttle body
tried a new temp sensor - no different
changed thermostat - best its been
