Has anyone polybushed the steering rack on their mk4?

Did you feel any difference?

Feel a tiny bit more through the steering wheel but nothing significant.

My entire car is polybushed, I done the steering rack bush when I fitted my neuspeed front and rear antiroll bar kit which included rose jointed droplinks. I left the wishbones attached, just disconnected the droplinks and dropped the steering rack, subframe, dog bone mount and that's it. Honestly though, I wouldn't bother with it if that's the only reason for removing the subframe, the annoying part was trying to align the holes for the bolts for steering rack up to the subframe and the subframe to the body.

Ill pass then.

Was considering a front rollbar but put off with the hassle of fitting it because im lazy.

Im going to get rear beam bushes and send her for 4 wheel alignment

I think you will like the rear axle bushes, it's money well spent. There wasn't much clearance between my front antiroll bar and the steering rack mounting as I had the 25mm front antiroll bar fitted, maybe 1-2mm gap between them and the steering rack has to be bolted up first, which meant you couldn't move the subframe around much. I also recommend getting the alignment done on the hunter hawk eye machine, I got an ideal amount of caster on the front to give me the best balance between straight line performance and handling whilst the caster is as much as I could get.

can you not slide it off from over the track rod end?  Obvilously keep rack in situ and just undo the clamp for bush?
