i think they are a waste of time and money, youre not going to heat your turbo up enough on the streets unless you drive like a bellend and if you are using one for track then im sure you would have enough time to just leave the engine idle for a few minutes.

it's to do with letting the turbo spin down to idle rpm with oil pressure rather than to do with heat  :nerd:

""""WARNING WARNING WARNING BELLEND ALERT"""""""""

many years ago when i owned a mint grey rs turbo escort when thay were popular ""untill some drunk twit wrote it off"" and the car to be seen in ""dont laugh im nearly 40"" , my turbo spent most of its life being bright red if i was going to work or popping down the shop for something it was all the same, one night it was so red it looked like it was melting and layed in bed with the lovely soothing noise of "PING PING PING PING" 3" of stainless steel mongoose exhaust and manifold and turbo cooling down, i love stainless steel exhausts had them on nearly all my cars cant beat them.

now off to hang my head in shame as im now a fully fledged bellend that will probably still end up with a turbo timer.

just something i wouldnt bother with myself personally, i think my turbo has spooled down enough with the careful drive though my village. only place i normally ever give it welly is the motorway slip and then take my time with the odd fun blip here and there.  i am building my car for semi track use and still dont think i have the need for a turbo timer.
