rear wiper arm deleted
« on: 16 December 2011, 09:25 »
has anyone removed the rear wiper on their golf and fitted a blanking plug. i saw these gecleant ones made from glass to sit flush in the window.

some say they don't fit good and others say they're great

anyone got any experience with these?

what sealant did you use? could you see it thru the tinted glass on the other side? does it leave a 'shadow' where its applied?

cheers

why would you do that?

the mk5 has such a vertical rear end it gets so dirty so quickly, a rear wiper is invaluable!

Mcar is 2000 miles old and I've not used the rear wiper once.

It's not a daily car so wouldnt use it in bad weather. The car looks better without it and I don't use/need it

Yeah but like I said mine is a fair weather car not a daily driver, rarely sees rain and is washed before its even dirty.

All I want is experience from people who have actually removed theirs and if the glue is visable thru the glass.

FYI, I just brought a new rear wiper blade, proper VW one from dealer, only £7.51. bargain, better than halfords crap.

Upperoilcan, this is a common fault and happened to mine. You need a new rear wiper motor.
