Thanks

yeah these are 100mm 'jet' tail pipes. i was going to get the GT100 but they look a bit boy racer to me. the one i went for are more in keeping with the car IMO.

you have a lot of adjustment in or out but i have mine pushed quite far in to the bumper so they're slightly more hidden. I've seen some people have them stick out more.

fit and quality of the milltek is very very good. all went together excellent, all hangers lined up perfect and there is a lot of adjustment on the slip joints if required. this is the best quality exhaust I've fitted i would say, including JCW ones for my mini cooper s which was also very good but look more 'tweaking' to line up.

as its stainless i siliconed all the slip joints to prevent leakage - all except for the OEM-to-milltek front connector so its easier to remove when the day comes. i applied a little silicon bead to the outside of that joint though just to help a little but non to the actual pipe itself but it should come off hopefully!

took it to the petrol station for a drink of v-power (the car not me) and to line david cameron's pockets a bit and the car sounds amazing.

i test drove a resonated version and it was far to quiet (i think it was quieter than OEM but the non-res is perfect IMO). below 3k rpm there is just a very subtle difference, just a little more aggressive and a slight burble but not louder - but above 4k rpm it really starts to come on song. a couple of nice little farts on overrun too. DSG would sound amazing on the up changes.

The sound is excellent but still in no way intrusive. at a steady 70mph its no louder than OEM and isn't boomy at all. I'm amazed to be honest.

i know £538 is a bit steep for a bit more noise, bit better looks and maybe a few bhp and throttle response but after just 10 miles of driving it i can say i would definitely recommend this exhaust.

I have wanted these garage toys for years...and now I have to teach myself how to use them!

I just need to wire a 32A socket into the Garage and I'm all set.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....

you will have to tell the wife to do without a cooker and just plug it into the cooker socket!
