Rear valance - help please???
« on: 14 December 2011, 18:27 »
Ok, bear with me here while I try & explain...

I want a 4motion type valance for my Golf but don't want the problem with the offset issue for the tow hitch cover etc - I think it looks a bit gash when it doesn't line up.

I've seen another Golf rear valence which is in a 4motion style but doesn't have the exhaust cut out. The two cars I've seen it on were a GTI & also a GT TDI - both had parking sensors in the valance plus there was no issues with the tow hitch offset not lining up.

So, my question is, does anyone have the 4motion valance on their car without the exhaust cut out & if so - have you got a part number please???

I've asked at the dealers & they can't seem to find it...

Thanks in advance.

No such thing as far as I know of. All 4mo valances have the twin exhaust.

Possibly thinking of the Anni valance.

Nope - it's definately not the Anni valance.

A neighbour had a GT TDI Golf with the valance & it wasn't a 4motion one either. Unfortunately the car was sold before I could ask if I could get a part number off it.

I'm wondering if this type of valance was only fitted to Golf's with factory fit rear parking sensors as both that I have seen had the sensors mounted in the valance.

I've seen a few of these. I want one aswell! Last time i saw one was at sainsburys in the evening i wanted to go and make a note of the reg so i could buy one from the dealers but the missues wouldn't let me, said i was weird lol. I've seen one on a later v5, don't think it had parking sensors. Seen one on a late gttdi don't think that had parking sensors either. Thought one of these and a v6 front would be a nice touch over the normal valances. If i find any more info on them will pass it on to you, if you'll do the same for me

I've seen this valance as well, its deffo the one that is designed to go with the parking sensors. Pretty sure the dealers will know what the part numbers, as far as I know the sensor holes are marked off ready to be retro fitted but not pre-cut into the valance. Last time I enquired it was roughly £50ish.
