dealer minimum part ex?

if a dealer offers a minimum part ex of £3k against a new car, can my dad use my car to part ex in for a new one for himself? mine is reg to me and the brand spanker will be reg to him??

the idea is i get his old car out of the deal.

anyone know if this is possible?

Buy the car for your dad, then upon receival transfer the owner details to him?

Or just transfer your car to his name?

Either option will work but transferring the new car means anothere registered keeper.

true to this and i doubt i would pass the credit check for the finance....

i wasnt sure if my dad would have to have been the registered keeper of mine for x amount of months to prevent him buying a scrapper for £50.00 (which is effectively what he is doing) and getting £3k for it as trade in?

What car is he getting? There are lots of heavily discounted new cars out there, so you could probably get £3000 off the list price of a new one without having to px anything.

Go onto http://www.drivethedeal.com/ and see what you can get the car he's after for.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Remember the keeper is not the owner. Just make an invoice

I thought your car was currently not roadworthy?

we get this quite a lot where i work, all you need to do is write and sign a letter stating that you are the owner of the vehicle and that you give your father permission to trade it in  :smiley:
