Hey, we're on the Banger Rally next month, so we're up for anything. Apparently we're doing it for chaaarriiitteeee as well.

Tin

PS and before any wag asks, its not my Golf thats the candidate. Its a Nissan Bluebird. And it accelerates only with the aid of a hill. It will be an experience. A slow one.

I think the way forward is to have a 3-point event with an overall time.

I will do the route in advance in a fairly quick time.  I may need to make some adjustments to my speed over the duration of the event.  The time that I complete the event will be the time everyone should aim to match.

The closest time to this will get the top prize with 2nd getting ?200 and 3rd getting ?100.

This way it would mean that all who entered would stand a chance of matching the time.  This makes it less of a race, and more down to the skills of the driver.

What to you all think....

If you are interested then you need to regester your details.
send a mail to ukcannonball@hotmail.com

Info needed :

1)Names of you and your co-driver.

2)Your home address so that info can be sent to you direct.

3)Car details.

yup

at the end of last year, a bunch staged Plymouth to Dakar.  The entry is a car that costs less than a hundred quid with 15 quid preparation.

it is very cool, you get your car to Dakar, and dump it, and fly home.

Trouble is - it takes 3 weeks.

Staples to Naples is a 4 day event, leaving on Friday (17th Oct) from Calais (Staples merely rhymned), and ending in Naples on the Monday. Its not a direct route.

I have no idea of the website address - but if you search for Staples to Naples on Google - its the first link. And our car is the Nissan on the front page!! hehe.

Trouble is, the old banger we've found is rather good, so we don't intend to dump it in Naples. Instead we're driving it back to the UK (we have two days - I have to be in court on the Thursday to sue someone).

Anyway, we're doing is for Charriitteee. I believe the nominated charity is Make A Wish Foundation.

I'll post details in a few days regarding this - if anyone wants to write a cheque they are welcome.

Regards,
Tin
