Thanks for the feedback and the education about track days. The experience has clearly not been what I was hoping for.
My intention was to raise awareness and encourage others to question VW's current lobbying policy. My intention was not to wind up and upset loads of people on this forum.
Perhaps I was naïve in thinking people would come on board or maybe I underestimated how strongly some people would react. Whatever the case, I’ve decided to delete my posts rather than create more angry people.
For the record, I am not (and never have been) a member of Greenpeace. Also, until very recently, I was the proud owner of both the cars in the photo. And I still think that the Golf GTI is one of the most awesome cars ever made!
So that’s it, I haven’t changed my views but I have taken on board the way I go about sharing them. I don’t think it’s an issue that’s going to go away and my hope is that future technology (and better VW investment) will provide a solution that we’ll all be happy with.
