Will I bollox - I need something to get me about!

Today's modification: replacement wiper blades, the posh ones with the little spoiler thing on the drivers side.

That's shut the bloody juddering up.

Also changed the stereo illumination to match the serene green of the dashboard.  The light on the clock is out, which is slightly tiresome, as it's not terribly visible in the dark.  I suspect it will remain that way though....

It's also taken the stereo out a couple of times when starting from cold.  I suspect this is because it has a smaller-than-it-should-be battery on it: the stereo comes on with the ignition, while the glowplugs warm things up, then when I crank it, I suspect the voltage drops WAY down and the stereo gives me the finger.  Won't come back on unless I hook it out the dash and pull the power.

I think the 167k engine and gearbox mounts are probably responsible for the slightly queasy feeling resonance that comes through the car at low revs in fifth.  Annoying if you're having a pop at hyper-miling.... but that's not really my style.

i would have a mk3 syncro but only seem to be on continent

Indeed.

There's a total of 20 TDI Syncro Golfs on mobile.de at the moment.

Here's something to tempt Danny Monday: http://bit.ly/v8RuW1

And this would be good, but only for the shell, which would need stripping out and caging etc etc etc: http://bit.ly/sVg1Wu

Although that last one's in Poland - I suspect there wasn't a 3-door Syncro G3 made, but someone in Poland decided there should be, so got the grinder and welder out.

If you need a bulb for the clock PM me your address.

You'll have it changed in exchange for ten minutes of your time.

I don't.  The clock is fine as it is.

No THANK YOU.  If I was really that bothered about it I'd be able to get one myself.

anyone would think it was a fcukin syncro the way you drive it  :lipsrsealed:

but in fairness for what you paid for it, it is ideal :afro:

and when it rots out cos you keep taking it on a ferry, the corrado diesel idea is tops  :lipsrsealed:

I specifically stated I would not be replacing the bulb.

With greater comprehension comes someone who might be bothered to be polite.

Just like telemarketers offering me something I've stated I don't want.  Don't call, don't get abused.

^^^ Fair enough.  Although....

The light on the clock is out, which is slightly tiresome, as it's not terribly visible in the dark.  I suspect it will remain that way though....

... doesn't seem like a specific statement, more like a suspicion of your own bone-idleness to fix it.

Will a lit clock make it drive any better?  No.  It's not bone idle, it's a specific focus.

anyone would think it was a fcukin syncro the way you drive it  :lipsrsealed:

Rubbish - I was being nice and it has good tyres on it - and drives straight.

and when it rots out cos you keep taking it on a ferry, the corrado diesel idea is tops  :lipsrsealed:

More likely to end up in a T25, like that POS Polizei bus still cluttering up my workshop.

Rather tiresomely it seems quite rot-free, except behind the NS front wheel, where I suspect it has had a tap at some point and some filler and shyte gobbed into it.
