well i'm with HIC who some people seem to think are pretty bad whenit comes to claims, but they offer like for like replacement on parts and with all my mods listed and as long as i don't go over 10k a year its £320 for me, 28, no points, however many no-claims since i was 17 (there is a limit right?) parked on the road with a cat1 alarm imobiliser

You've done well to be living in your area with no points- speed camera city along the A27!  Nearly missed the limit in the roadworks on my way to GSF last weekend!!

thats another thing , NCB. some companys will let you claim upto 9 years and 70% discount. mine only go up to 5 . it's a strange business

in fact, i'll tell you a story.
I used to work for a NU subsiduary in the household section and was offered redundancy or a move to NU proper in their motor section. After a few days training (BORING!) we were shown how to do quotes. The first thing they said was to ask how much the customers best quote was and no matter what our cheapest was ,we were only allowed to offer the closest lower quote, sometimes ripping people off for hundreds. I was so disgusted I took redundancy instead.

Direct Line refused to match another quote at renewal time, despite the fact I had been with them for three years. "We don't match quotes, sir".  Lost my business for the sake of £60.  Hmmmm, quote me happy......

well first time on the forum all seems good. Just passed my test back in Feb as i was made redundant and paid off so had a small
crisis and bought my dream car mk2 8v . What a car but some ridiculous quotes of £2000 + fully comp. Went to Admiral and paid £650 fully comp with no NCB couldn't believe it, okay im approaching the big 30 but still not bad.
