sill protection, whats the best?
« on: 06 December 2011, 20:49 »
I don't know if i am dreaming but I am sure i have seen older cars with like a black rubber coating on the sill, not a plastic clip on thing but what actually looks like its brushed/sprayed on. If i am not dreaming then can anyone tell me what it is? Or something that would do the same job?

what I have seen has been left exposed and looked very neat and tidy, asthough it supposed to be there. It could have just been like a vinyl stick on job now I think about it though.

if you look at my project page (link in my sig) you will see that I used waxoyl on every inch of my car where its either low on paint or generally vunerable.  You can get a decent finish with patience... Not too sure if this is what you mean....

You can get stone chip paint for lower areas of the car body such as sills and valances but the finish is usually quite textured/hammered.
