hi folks,

does anyone own or used a Kirby Vacuum cleaner??

they are quiet expensive but i know someone who has one and they have had it for nearly 18yrs!! still looks brand new and is spot on. IIRC they used to do demos at your home to show how it works etc.

thanks

Are these the ones which are like £1100 plus or so  :undecided:

Think my Aunty had a demo which I remember watching; poor thing thought her house was clean and then you saw what it picked up!!

The vacume cleaner itself is a very high quality product, USA built iirc,
The problem was Kirby were attached to a hard sell, and stitch up campaign in the 80s! Once the salesman was in your house, he wouldn't leave till you signed on the dotted line, thousands of people got stitched up! Not sure what they're doing these days, or whether they are still trading...

we've had one for 20 years, older than me  it has a headlight, think the rents paid around 1500 for it, it's really good, use it for the cars when they're not in need of a new engine  :undecided: brother-in-law used to be a salesmen for them also

I think the headlight feature sold it for me. That n they do a cracking job compared to our Henry, not that Henry's are bad, just the kirby seems to pick up a load more, and with our littleuns sensitive allergy prone skin, it's cool.

And I wouldn't say there a hard sell, I came home at the end of the pres that my missus, her nan an cleaner had been watching an said I'd pay £X for two or piss off.
