Im missing a bung in the boot for mine. Its behind the bumper area under the vw badge although looking at other golfs this isnt there and i cant really see why there would be a hole there anyway.
Had to push one of those blanking things that you get on kitchen cupboard doors in there to slow down the water pouring in.

i had a big leak in one of my doors last year and it was a nightmare i put in some new door lining from gsf and this year i have had bare minimun steaming up, i also using rain-x anti fog and a demisting cloth for windscreen if it gets bad but i went to it thismorning and it was all clear :)

and i cant rely on my heaters in my golf they are rubbish i think i get more air when i blow than my actuall blowers

you might find the heater box flaps have fallen apart and the dash ducting can split off the dash , should work pretty nice when its all in good order
