Mk3 callipers on mk2?
« on: 09 May 2005, 03:50 »
I Read  earlier today that mk3 calipers fit mk2 hubs. Is this so? Is it a simple case of swapping them over? Could someone please enlighten me, as I'm new to golfs. I could to with increasing my stopping power.

I think I need to bleed my brakes, they seem fine, under normal braking, but from higher speeds the pedal suddenly goes long and spongy, just as the car is about to come to a stop. Does this sound like air in the pipes or something else?

Cheers in advance.

If your mk2 is 1989 onwards then they should be a straight swap.

dont think there is any diffrence in breaking with the mk3 calipers. I changed mine for mk3's because my handbreak didnt work coz the mk2 ones seize up.

If your rear calipers are working then save the cash mate.

Does sound like some air in the system. happend to me a few weeks ago and is scary when there was no breaks
