any ideas why your friend thinks you don't need to inform insurers about a car with more power than standard?

Sounds a little cheap.

Manufacturers can tell if they want to.

Insurance must be informed.

insurance can tell as well if they want to.

you'd be amazed at what they'll pay to find out definative proof as well if its suspected

Wonder if they could find someone to read a ME3.8.1 AGU ECU.....

Most insurance companies dont even cover the increase in power from a spec 1 map!  for example...AUM 1.8T 150bhp maps to 225bhp easily!  Thats a 50% power increase.....

248bhp  278lbft R - Tech Powered 1.8T!!  - Gone but NOT forgotton

225bhp from just a remap is a tad optimistic, 205bhp is more realistic....which is actually a 36% increase

Depends what map you get and what set of rollers surely?

If your only on about a remap, then maybe the lower end of the figures....with supporting mods you might see more!

Yeah true, mine has a carbon map and is mapped to 205bhp dyno'd on their brutally accurate rollers. That's just with Forge 007p and pipercross filter
