Is it true the EML will fail?

Will kill a lot of MK4's and Beetles off.

They mean if any warning light isn't working.

I think alot of MK4 owners know pretty well that the EML works.

So if the EML is lit, is it a fail?

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.

Still all depends who MOTs your car

Not worth the paper it's written on anyone can get a ticket with out even movin the car from the drive way we all know a man ;)

All good and well until someone gets hurt or dies when the brakes fail or ridiculously bright headlamps dazzle you off the road. I'm sure most members on here would agree

I'm not talking about them passing a car with things like brakes not working, I just mean the odd verbal advisory instead of a fail on the understanding you go and get it done straight away. I'm not sure I have ever seen any headlights that would dazzle me off the road, I tend to keep my eyes on the road rather than stare into bright lights lol

You can look at the road and get dazzled by stupid lights.

No, that's not what it means and not necessarily either.

But if it comes on because of the lambda sensor being out of range and the emissions are high, then it will fail for the emissions, not because the light is on.

Firstly you said an MOT without moving the car from the drive, so how would they know?

Second, you can look at the road and get dazzled by stupid lights.

No he never somebody else did

I get dazzled more by mercs and range rovers but these will pass with no problems
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

with such high demand to break into the MOT world at the moment, any garage risking their licence to MOT to issue a dodgy ticket deserves the book throwing at them.

as for the other comments

Infact, I think we should strike over HID lights.

The new checks will also ensure the new generation powerful headlights do not dazzle oncoming motorists.
