White smoke

just wondered if i could get some knowledge my car blows out white plumes of smoke every morning but then after about thiry or forty seconds it stops smoking. now i have been told its valve stem oil seals but would just like some reassurance please. oh by the way the car is a 99 golf mk4 agu

quite a bit not thick white smoke but not far of

cold mornings.....condensation build up maybe, it would be blue if was valve stems wouldnt it

thats what i was thinking, could just be the moisture in air condensating on the exhaust.

there is a lot of water coming out at the same but i am getting a 3" straight through exhaust in a couple of weeks so should i wait and see if that cures it before doing anything else

condensation  look at other cars in traffic etc in the morning you,ll no doubt see the same

ide agree with daz, did it used to do it in the warm weather or is it only since its became cold out that its started to do it?

when i owned a 306  couple years back was blue smoke when valve stems were on way out so it wont be them

its only done it over the past week and at the moment i am only doing short journeys so the water will build up in the exhaust wont it
