braking rocks in the hot sun.....update

bit the bullett and bought a new rear caliper to replace my leaky one  pick it up tomorrow
i have had a look in the haynes and it says before fitting the new caliper it should be bled before fitting to the car is that right?     can you not just bleed it once its on the car  like normal ?
cars a 1992 digi and caliper is o/s rear any help/info much appreciated

I think once the pipe is hooked up you bleed it as normal mate!
After all how are you suposed to bleed something when there is nothing to bleed if not connected

in the haynes it says to bleed the caliper before you fit to the car and then bleed it as normal.
it shows a picture of fluid being forced through the bleed nipple and should expell air through pipe conection.
is this right and what is the meaning of doing it like that

Okay you can expell more air from the caliper by not mounting it to the strut.
I understand perfectly fella! 
My logic still stands you can't bleed air unless its hooked up to the brake line!
If you want to do it the Hayes way from your interpretation, by all means go ahead

when i say bleed before fitting to the car... you are getting confused
i should have said prime the caliper with fluid away from the car once filled with fluid return to the car and fit,bleed in normal way.
so original question, what is the point to that and is that right.

Fit to car and then bleed, I have never known anyone to bleed a caliper before fitting.

quick update.......bought exchange caliper, flexi hose and fluid about £70 from brakes international.
i fitted them this weekend clamped the componsator valve and bled caliper up with no problems 
brakes are good again  thanks guys
