pulsing clutch pedal
« on: 27 November 2011, 11:20 »
Went to test drive the caddy i put a holding deposit on yesterday and when i had my foot rested on the clutch pedal ready to change gear it was pulsing/vibrating. Had a look online and it looks like this could be the throwout bearing, engine mount or just plain knackered clutch. It pulled away fine and changed gear perfectly, tested the clutch properly and it didn't slip. Anyone with experience know if this is common on caddy's and is it something i need to tell them to get sorted?

I assume it's on the original clutch and it's done 86000 miles. biting point wasn't high but it wasn't low either.

Any input appreciated.

Possibly release bearing?

I had a similar problem on my old TR6 that quickly evolved into a squeaking then pulsating problem when the clutch was depressed. A new bearing + clutch kit solved the problem. And relieved my wallet of about £500 in labour :P

What year is it, I believe the newer ones have a DMF flywheel so that might be causing an issue.
